Ryozo Taniguchi (1926-1996) était un important céramiste qui a revitalisé la poterie japonaise contemporaine. Il était apprenti du grand maître potier Kiyomizu Rokubei VI.

En 1956, il a été récompensé à l’Exposition d’Art Céramique Moderne, et en 1961 a reçu le très prestigieux prix de la Japan Ceramics Society (JCS).

Ses œuvres sont conservées dans la collection impériale et au MOMAT.

In 1956 he was awarded at the Modern Ceramic Art Exhibition, and in 1961 received the highly prestigious Japan Ceramics Society (JCS) Award.
His works are held in the imperial collection and in the MOMAT.
